Centre of the Universe… At one point in the evolution of our species, the majority view was that we were the centre of the Universe. Well obviously we now know that isn’t true as we are one tiny rock in a seemingly infinite Universe. But a similar thing is true in our lives. Growing up, many of us (myself included) react to things like we are the centre of the Universe. Where failing one exam or getting rejected by a girl in High School feels like the end of the world, as we grow older, we realize those things don’t matter much in the grand scheme of things. Many things don’t matter in the grand scheme, but we treat them like they are matters of national security. But I suppose that is the interesting part of life, the journey that each of us take. And well, in the end anyways, each one of these bodies we inhabit are returned back to the Universe.
Stars travel through our sky, just like we travel through life. And that was what I was hoping to accomplish with this blog. I was hoping to share a bit of my journey through this life.
My name is Jason Wong. I am a software developer photographer philosopher wine drinker. I have been trying to find my “passion” for many years now. But I have come to realize that I have too many interests to have one true passion. Or perhaps I just need to stop stressing over finding my true passion and just enjoy this journey.
I’ve never found writing enjoyable, so writing here will be a challenge for me. As well I grew up believing that I wasn’t a creative person and coming up with “ideas” is not something I am good at. As I’ve gotten older and learned more, I believe that just isn’t true. I now believe that we are all creative individuals and we can all have tons of ideas. We just need to be more open to them coming into our lives.
One more thing, I am also a chronic procrastinator. I took this picture nearly a year ago and started this post around the same time. My original plans were to post this back in March of 2015. Well here we are on December 23rd of the same year and this site has not even gone public yet. But better late than never, so here we go. My first post of TheWongJourney.com!
